Spermacoce alata, Palau

February 2017. The weed looks a lot like a couple of species of Spermacocein Palau, but the 6 fused petals have me confused – Spermacoce spp. have 4 petals. The leaves are about 2 cm long, the flowers just a couple of mm in diameter. It is growing prostrate in very poor soil at this site, and is spreading.

It was recognised as Spemacoce alata. There was also a suggestion that it was Richardia brasiliensis.
