January 2002. A hibiscus from Palau. Two suggestions were made:
1. Hibiscus sabdariffa, a close relative to Lady’s Finger or okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) (L.) Moench.
2. Hibiscus asper Hook. In West African it is a common weed of cultivation in the dry savanna zones. In West Africa, too, it grows to a height of 2 m.
