Giant Mimosa, Mimosa diplotricha

April 2008. A report from Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia states that Heteropsylla spinulosa is giving a very good control of Mimosa diplotricha (previously, M. invisa). It was also reported that the US has approved the release of H. spinulosa on Guam and in the Northern Marianas. Officials will collect the insect from Pohnpei, in the Federated States of Micronesia, Palau and Australia.

The Northern Marianas College agricultural extension program on Saipan will collect, breed and release the insects.
