March 2014. A moth from stored products, Sri Lanka.
It’s difficult to be sure since there are rather few scales left on the wings, but it appears to be Plodia interpunctella(Hübner) (Pyralidae, Phyctinae), the Indian meal moth, belonging in the same group as Ephestia. Normally, the distal two-thirds of the forewing are reddish brown. It is probable that the colouring has rubbed off this specimen, but there is still a trace of this colouring. If there was one moth there’s likely to me more!
