July 2006. Two insects were collected on two herbal crops planted at a research station in Kelantan, Malaysia.
The caterpillar (leaf roller) feeds on shoots of Ficus deltoidea. The adult, reared from the caterpillar, is shown. The remaining photo is a ?tingiid bug collected on Orthosiphon stamineus. Infestation by the bugs killed the plant.
Members thought that the moth was a species of Odites (Gelechioidea, Lecithoceridae, Oditinae, previously in the Xyloryctidae, possibily O atonopa Meyrick (Lecithoceridae). In Thailand, the larvae fold the leaves of Citrus spp., rambutan, litchi and rose-apple.
The other may be a lacebug ,belonging to the Innidae, possibly Diconocoris sp.
