The images were sent to Professor Pang Hong, Professor, Director, State Key Lab of Biocontrol, Sun Yat-Sen Univeristy, Guangzhou, China, who forwarded them to Dr Adam Slipinski, Australian National Insect Collection, CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences, Canberra.
The ladybeetle was recognised as Cheilomenes sulphurea, a large African genus of Coccinellini; this species is widespread in West Africa, common with aphids on legumes, or poaceous plants. |
