It was thought to be a Ceroplastes wax scale (Coccoidea), possibly C. rubens; the poor state of the photos makes iit difficult to be certain. The pink wax scale, Ceroplastes rubens, was also found on mango during a recent survey; it is the indirect cause a sooty mould growth. It is probably kept in check by parasitoids.
