Remaudiereana nigriceps

June 2005. From Cook Islands, sent with the hope that members could identify the bug.

It’s a Lygaeidae, Remaudiereana nigriceps (Dallas), a widely distributed species in Australian Region (including the islands) and the Oriental Region. It is a Rhyparochromidae, which until 1997 was Rhyparochrominae, a subfamily of Lygaeidae.
