Pests Pest Techniques Techniques Spittle bugs, rearing, Switzerland
|
September 2000. A question from a member from Switzerland, about rearing of spittle bugs, for example, Philaenus spumarius.
In reply, it was thught that these spittle bigs werre abundant on what was called “florists’ chrysanthemums” – plants potted in a shadehouse. The spittle bugs were numerous. The type of chrysanthemum was very leafy and with lots of small buds and flowers. It might give a clue to a laboratory host.
