September 2011. Ladybeetle infestation on okra, Kano, Nigeria.
A member [moderator] wrote, the lady beetle looks like Micraspis vincta (Gorham) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae). It is a beneficial insect not a pest of okra. It is one of the predaceous coccinellids found in the northern region of Thailand. Since it was found in Nigeria which is almost two continents away from Thailand, it was not known if the species is cosmopolitan in distribution or not.
