February 2014. A “carpet” grass in a vanilla planting in Vanuatu was sent for identification. It was said to form a thick mat, and the sender wanted to know if it was an invasive species.

Unfortunately, the image was not sufficient clear to decide if it showed a grass or a sedge. Larger images showing the flowers are needed.
