July 2016. The technical manager of a black pepper farm asked about a scale problem in Cambodia affecting stems, leaves and fruit. How can it be eliminated from the farm.
A member replied based on his expertise in treating scale in his garden. I used an organic product to prepare 4 liters: Take 2 big onions 2 garlic cloves 1/4 kg of hot chili peppers
Grind all the above, and make a paste, put it in 4 liter of water and bring to boil for 5 mins. When cool, filter.
Use at the rate of 20 cc/litre water and spray the plants every 4 days. After the second spaying, check the scales to see if they are dead or not. Note that the organic product (made as above) will last about 6 month, if kept in a ventilated place.
