December 2010. A request to identify a moth found in rambutan fruit in Vietnam. It was sent to India and thence to Pestnet.
There were many suggestions – Conopomorpha cramerella, Dichocricic/Conogethes puntiferalis, until it was decided that it was Tirathaba sp., possibly T. ruptilinea (Pyralidae, Galleriinae), which has been recorded from Nephilium lappaceum (Sapindaceae) in Thailand, according to Robinson, Tuck, Shaffer (1994) A Field guide to the Smaller Moths of South-East Asia. The Natural History Museum, London / Malayan Nature Society, Kuala Lumpur), p.139, plate 20.
