April 2004. A caterpillar intercepted in quarantine in Australia from Spineless Yucca, Yucca elephantipes, from Costa Rica. It was thought to be one of the “Yucca Moths” – superfamily Hesperioidea.

It was considered to be the larvae of Opogona sacchari (Tineidae not Hesperioidea). China said that it is intercepted in Yucca and Draceana imported from Costa Rica, Taiwan and Indonesia. The caterpillar is a milky colour, with a rufous head. There are four pinacula on each notum.
