Fly from hydroponics, crucifers, Singapore

April 2017. A fly collected from an indoor vertical farm (hydrophonic system) for crucifers. The insects were not observed on the plants but were found mostly in the nutrient solution.

A member wrote: The fly looks as if it belongs to the family Ephydridae, and resembles a Scatella species.

It is possibly Scatella stagnalis.
