February 2004. ‘Beetles’ collected from a chilli field in Bangi Selamgor, Malaysia, as well as on Elucine indica. It was thought to be a coccinellid.

The insect is not a beetle, but a ‘beetle fly’ of the family Celyphidae or (e.g. Colless & McAlpine (1991) p. 770) Lauxaniidae. The larvae feed in decaying vegetation.
