October 2002. A cockroach from Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, possibly Platyzosteria, but it has often been referred to the genus Cutilia. It may be P. nitida. It was intercepted on wood used to support electric wire imported from the USA. It is 2.7 cm long and 1.5 cm wide, with unusually short and straight antennae, and the tarsus has no lamellate. The front legs are very long and the mid and back legs are significantly shorter. It is black. |
