July 2004. The beetle was found on a geological expeditions in the forests of Guyana. It looks different from Xylotrupes gideon.It was thought that it more closely found a closer resemblance of the attached beetle to the Coelosis spp, could it be C biloba, but again the shape of the pronotum differs slightly.The beetle was not found eating any crop but in the forest ecosystem.
