June 2002. This beetle, from Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, is active at night and is attracted to light. It is oblong (about 14 mm long), has a dark-brown body with brown to light brown antennae. The antennae are 7 mm long, have an unusual shape and nine segments. We are not aware if this beetle is damaging to any crop.
It was suggested that it is a member of the Callirhipidae): Callirhipis femorata or vitiensis. The larvae feed in rotten wood. No information on adult behaviour.
