May 2002. New Caledonia asked if any one could confirm that the photo (left) is Chrysomphalus aonidum? members thought it likely and one sent a photo of a specimen (right).

One member suggested the photo (right) is typical of C. adonidum, but that the specimens in the photo (left) are a slightly paler brown than usual. However, according to records for New Caledonia, C adonidum is the only species of Chrysomphalus that has been recorded. Therefore, it woudl be fairly safe to assume that the photo (left) is showing that species.
