| February 2003. Immature stages of the insects illustrated are causing galls underneath the leaves of Pisonia grandis and creating concern on the island of Cousin, a Seychelles Nature Reserve. Using available keys it was believed to be a Fulgoroidea larvae belonging to the family Ricaniidae. (A feature that can hardly be seen here, is that the 2nd segment of hind tarsi is small, apically pointed and without spines).
It was confirmed to be a Ricaniidae nympth. |
