There were a number of

  • It was presumed that the question was referring to Anaplolepis longipes. If so, Jim Stapley did some work on this inn Solomon Islands in the 1970s so the information will be old, but copies of his reports can be sent.
  • There has been work in Samoa and Tokelau. SPREP and Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment staff undertook work on the Aleipata Islands in Samoa. The SPREP person who led the project has left but you can contact David Moverley ([email protected]), the current invasives adviser (who will also be aware of the Tokelau work), or Faleafaga Toni Tipamaa the ACEO at MNRE ([email protected]) to obtain the report and contact details for the Australian scientist who led the research.
  • Ben Hoffmann from CSIRO in Australia assisted with the work on the Aleipata Islands in Samoa (he’s a PestNet Associate. In terms of eradication, there has been nothing from the Pacific other than from a small islet off Hawaii – see Plentovich, S, Eijzenga J, Eijzenga H, Smith D (2011) Indirect effects of ant eradication efforts on offshore islets in the Hawaiian Archipelago. Biol Invasions 13, 545-557. Most of the eradications have yet to be detailed in a publication But attached are a heap of publications and reports that should be useful for those in Fiji, including the protocols used in Arnhem Land.
