| May 2006. Photos were sent to PestNet following the receipt of the abstract of a paper that appeared in Australasian Plant Pathology 35(3): 335???340 (May, 2006). The paper is entitled: Phytoplasma disease surveys in Tonga, New Caledonia and Vanuatu, by RI Davis, P Jones, TJ Holman, K Halsey, R Amice, SK Tupouniua and M Seth.
In 2003, during a taro virus survey in New Caledonia, papaya were seen that were thought to be affected by a phytoplasma disease at Moindou (2 photos above). Plants had lop-sided terminal growth, with yellowing leaves leading to necrosis. |
