August 2010. A request from Guam for the identification of the stem cankers on rambutan.
It was thought to be rambutan trunk and branch canker, caused by the ascomycete fungus, Dolabra nepheliae. It starts off as small lesions on young shoots. Control consists of regular spraying of the young tissue with a suitable fungicide (such as copper oxychloride) to protect it from infection.
