Capsicum flower debris

June 2003. The Federated States of Micronesia asked about the debris found on imported capsicum from California and Guam: can it be identified? Is this a way that weeds can be spread?

Members thought it likely that the debris was anthers and other parts (perhaps dried petals) of the flowers of the capsicum. It was also suggested that floral parts were still attached to the fruits.
