Aphis gossypii

January 2007. Aphids were found on chili (Capsicum frutescens) in Trinidad and an identification was requested.

Although a final identification from photographs is always risky, it seems that the aphids are Aphis gossypii. This is one of the most common aphids in the Pacific, and elsewhere, and they have a wide host range, that includes pepper.
