October 2011. Two butterflies from Africa. The first (left) is from fruit trees in Zanzibar, and the second (right) from Malindi (Kenya).
The first (left) is Papilio nireus (very variable); and the second Danauschrysippus (also variable). Another member said that the bright yellow butterfuly is figured in Pennington’s ‘Butterflies of Southern Africa’, and appears to be Danaus chrysippus aegyptius (f.transiens).
